I rescued Spirit from animal control, fundraisers paid for his vetting. He had no history, not even a name. So I named him Spirit. I posted him on many sites, but all inquiries about Spirit came from Rescue Me, including the family who adopted him. He is now living in Washington State on a lake with a retired couple and a dog named Tango.

And the email communication with them is remarkable. I would submit something and within seconds they would email me back. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I think it's wonderful what your doing to help animals!

Maggie found a very loving family who was looking for a dog exactly like her. It took less than a week from the day I posted her on Rescue Me in the day she went home. Her new parents drove three hours from another state together and three hours back. She is already feeling at home and her new parents love her very much! Happy story!

I love the Spitz breed! I love everything about them, the loyalty they give, the personality, the intelligence, how life is not complete without at least one in our life. I've got mine!!!! And I found her through Rescue Me! Thank God for people like Yulia! A wonderful foster mom who made her available to me. I only wish all dogs out there had someone like her to help. And that they knew about Rescue Me! Thank you!

Kona found a wonderful forever family through adoption. The family has had two previous (long lived) Eskies and was ready to have another. Once you have had an Eskie, you may be ruined for any other breed. Kona LOVES his new home and family. I am blessed to have fostered him. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Sasha's picture was seen within three hours of posting her on the Rescue Me website by a local family man named Sam. Sam and his family only live about 10 minutes down the road. We set a time for him to meet Sasha the following day. He brought his daughters, and they all loved her right away. Sam took her home so his wife could meet her, she spent the night with them. Sam's wife loved her too so they have taken her into their home and into their hearts. Sasha needed a family with a home as she is very energetic, and I am a senior now living in an apartment. This was not a good situation for her. I am very happy for Sasha to have found such a wonderful family and very thankful for the Rescue Me website, which has been a great blessing to us!

No one else wanted this poor baby when I found him initially because he was 13.5 years old and had health issues. I brought him home from the county animal shelter and took care of his health issues, but I was still having trouble finding him a home because he is older. Even though I couldn't keep up with his energetic nature, I couldn't just take him back to a shelter because this loving dog absolutely stole my heart. Luckily my mom found this site, posted his picture and I got a response within about a week! I am happy to say that, thanks to Rescue Me!, this sweet boy will have an amazing forever home with someone who can give him just as much love as he will give to them! Shadow and I are both so thankful for Rescue Me!

Aggie was adopted with one week of being posted on Rescue Me. This website is an excellent resource to help connect dog lovers with wonderful dogs that need a new home. I found that the platform was easy to use and thought the tips for finding the right adopter were helpful. Thanks to Rescue Me, we were able to find a wonderful new home for Aggie where we feel certain she will be loved and cared for. Thanks for this wonderful service.

These girls belonged to my neighbors-elderly, long time friends who could no longer physically handle them. The second day after I posted on Rescue Me, a lady called. She filled out an application, endured three phone interviews and we drove to meet her. The dogs took to her immediately so we knew we had a home for them. Although my neighbors miss them, they know they are well and happy as the new owner communicates regularly and sends pics on the internet. I worked for a Dachshund rescue for several years. It is important to have specific breed rescue sites because if someone is looking, generally, they've had the breed before (in this case the lady had an Eskie for 16 years) and you can have some confidence in the fact that they know what to expect and that the breed has suited their lifestyle before and will again. Especially, Eskimos that have some very specific needs such as grooming, agility exercise (not just walking) and a great diet-no cheap corn filled-chicken by product food. The girls were not SOLD! The lady covered the travel expenses of getting them home. It just can't be about money! Ever!

Precious, my American Eskimo, adult female dog has been rescued by a family who visited this site and contacted me. They are lovely people and came here to pick her up. I saved her from going to the pound where she would only have been kept three days before being put down about four years ago, but we are too old for a young dog and the family who took her are younger and will walk her and play with her. They have a younger dog, too. Our other dogs are mostly all seniors and one with behavior problems, a younger dog from an animal rescue and an animal shelter here who didn't have a lot of hope of being adopted. Precious' new family is sending me pictures by phone and updates and are treating her like a queen. I am very, very happy for her and delighted she has this wonderful family. Thank goodness for Rescue Me for putting us together!

We recently adopted Paolo, a four year old American Eskimo dog. He is the light of my life! He settled into our routine immediately. He loves our walks and rides on the golf cart every day for a run in the field. What a delightful little boy he is. His owner, Lisa, was great to help with the transition for Paolo to his new family. Thank you Rescue Me for making this possible! Our family is now complete!

We had to re-home our wonderful dog due to having a new baby, and he was just too much for me being such a high energy dog. I hated the idea of a shelter and wanted to personally pick his new mommy and daddy. I posted on Rescue Me! knowing nothing about it, but loved the idea behind it... I got an email and within a week he was going home with his new parents. The situation was perfect, and exactly what we wanted for him. I know he is with the right people who will give him everything! This site is wonderful and the perfect way to help find a new home if you are unable to care for your pet!

I lost my other American Eskimo Dog on the 21st of December, and my Border Collie was looking quite lonely! Mardi and I had saved Snowflakes life together years ago, so it was a rough Christmas for my doggy and I. I decided to look online, and Rescue Me! is the site that came up! Dutchess was down near the bottom of the page, and her picture spoke to me, saying come get me! She had two things that probably kept others from adopting her, her age, and location. After learning her situation I knew I had to go get her. Scott, the previous owner met us at a park, and Scott was surprised, because Dutchess didn't even bark at my Border Collie. This dog is old enough to have a drivers license, let alone a dog license, but you'd never know by how much energy she has! I don't know how long we'll have with her, but we will cherish everyday that we have with this bundle of joy, she truly is a blessing! Thank you for being here, so that I could find another American Eskimo to adopt.

Yoshi needed a new home with a patient family to take care of him. He had showed continued guarding behavior toward my girlfriend, probably from when he was tossed out as a stray at less than five months of age. Our local Eskimo Dog rescue wasn't active, and leads from friends weren't getting anywhere, so I turned to Rescue Me! for help. There were many people who showed interest in Yoshi - some potential adopters were not good fits, while others had a lot of potential. However, one of the first people who turned in an adoption application also consistently showed that she was on top of things. She traveled for three hours with her daughter to come visit us and my girlfriend, and we were very impressed by her calm but commanding demeanor, as well as her straightforwardness. Yoshi probably sensed it, too, as he immediately took a liking to both her and her daughter. The treats probably helped, too. They were the only ones granted a second visit, and after making sure everything was in order, Yoshi went on a long journey to his new home... Without Rescue Me!, I don't think we would have met Yoshi's new owner. The whole process of pre-screening and interviewing people would not have gone so smoothly otherwise, as well, so thank you for providing this service. And, thank you Pam and Beth for taking Yoshi in. Rick Tang

I had the honor to care for another American Eskimo Dog until this past spring. I was recently forwarded Frost's need for adoption. Frost's overview was correct, and the combination of his age and anxiety would be an issue for some, but knowing the breed I saw the bigger picture. Within 48 hours, Frosty had made a complete transition, is relaxed, loyal, eager to walk, and no longer seems to suffer from separation anxiety. All that meet him are shocked that we haven't been together since he was a pup. Thanks to the foster family, Cheryl, and Rescue Me! for putting us together, the perfect rescue outcome!

It was almost like God hand picked the perfect family to adopt Corey. When they showed up to adopt him, it was like he already knew them. He hopped into their car, tail wagging, and never looked back. A couple chose him as a companion for their elderly Pomeranian. They weren't even really considering it until they saw his picture and read his story. They found a place for him in their hearts and home. Now he's getting all the attention he deserves and has a wonderful, age appropriate, new playmate.

Ceilidh has a loving home and I feel I have two new friends who are Eskie lovers and the best humans that Ceilidh could have to live with. This breed is very special, and takes a person with patience and compassion to bring out the best in them.

I am a very small dog/cat rescue, using my own funds to help find cats and dogs home. Cody came into my home very abused, mentally. After a few months of training, manner training, neutered and vaccinated, I started my search for the perfect home for him. I tried Craigslist, and only got responses that I felt were not the best home for Cody. I went on line, and found 'Rescue Me'. Thank you a million times for this site. I posted Cody and within three days, was contacted by a wonderful family in Ocala Florida. After Many conversations, questions from both sides, I decided this was the perfect home for Cody. We met half way, which in my case was just east of Tallahassee, Florida, since I live in the Pensacola area, and all I asked for was some gas money, which they gladly gave me. I spend a lot of money on these abused, neglected and abandoned animals, and all I ask for is a good home, and maybe some gas money to meet you somewhere if you can't come here. It's not about the money I have involved, it's about finding a good home and what is best for the dog or cat. I am getting emails from the family that got Cody, and they love him so much and he is adjusting well. He will be the only dog. He will get all the attention, and from what I hear, he'll be spoiled rotten. Thank you thank you thank you Rescue Me for this site. You helped me find a good dog a great family.

Missy was adopted in December to a wonderful woman in her 80's who has had dogs all her life and had a senior American Eskimo pass away a few months earlier. She was third in line to be the adopter after we got 2 earlier applications. Both of those owners took the application process all the way to the 'meet the dog' stage (I called their references, etc.) and both turned her down because they decided they couldn't handle adopting a dog of her age after all! Well, Missy took to her new home right away, including her doggie house mate, who is very timid and looks to Missy for social support. This match is what doing rescue is all about!

Because of my upcoming marriage and move to new home, I had to make some difficult decisions about my 2 dogs. I am only able to accommodate one at the new house, so I had to find my 3-yr old eskie, Maya, a new home. This was very stressful for me, as for anyone having to relinquish their pet. I was so happy to find a resource that would specifically reach out to people that wanted to adopt an American Eskimo. It didn't take long before a wonderful couple from Eastern Washington contacted me and said they would like to make Maya part of their family, as one of their eskies had just passed away. They had a second eskie that would be company for my Maya, since she grew up with another dog and they constantly played together. This was exactly what I was hoping for and though I miss her a great deal, I know she is in good hands. I would like to thank the Rescue Me organization for giving me peace of mind in a difficult situation.

Although we are still saddened that we had to put Caesar up for adoption, we are confident this is the best decision for the quality of life for Caesar.
