Hi, I'm Shiloh. I am a 9 month old Australian shepherd / American Eskimo hybrid. I am altered and up to date on all of my vaccinations I am a happy, playful boy who is very much puppy. I love to play and chew on toys. I like baths, and playing in the water. I am still young and very much a puppy so I am still learning my basic obedience. I am house trained, crate trained and I can sit, down, off, take it, leave it, fetch, and have a short 'stay'. I'm still very easily distracted LOL. I am very interested in what my people are doing and be very closely involved. I am a blank canvas and I am ready to learn. I have the potential to be an ... (Read More)awesome and lovable furbaby. My first family had me from a small puppy only weeks old. They let me get away with a lot of puppy behaviors that has made me a little nippy every once in a while. I had developed a bit of collar shyness. (I would nip every once in a while if you grabbed for my collar straight from the front). We are working on this issue and know that I am very clever and will easily learn that not every hand is heavy and wanting to hurt me. I am ready to love a forever family, could you be that family? Please contact Charlene with For the Love of Dogs Rescue to get an adoption application. You can reach her by email at or on her cell phone at 704-402-0622. The application process is a little lengthy but well worth the effort. You get the app, fill it out, the rescue checks your references, vet references, and will do a home visit. If everything checks out then we can schedule a meet and greet, if that goes well then you sign the adoption contract and I get to go home with you. See, its not too bad, the rescue just wants to make sure that I go to the best fit home for me (and for you). I need a family with a little patience and a lot of love. I have NOT bit anyone but I have snapped in the air. I am snapping out of fear. We do not know what happened to him but have seen this type of behavior in dogs that have had very bad experiences with their 'collars', 'Leashes', and very rough handling perhaps even with a prong collar? Shiloh does not do this every time, maybe 1 our of 40 times that you reach for his collar. We would be remiss if we did not tell any potential adopter about this. Shiloh is also a small dog - about 40lbs we do not believe that he will get much larger. He is a registered hybrid and has a lot of love to give to the right family. Is that you? (Less)

The American Eskimo Dog is believed to be one of the closest breeds to the Neolithic canines from which all modern domesticated dogs have been bred. The American Eskimo Dog used to be known as the German Spitz, but underwent a name change due to anti-German sentiment during World War I. Some American Eskimo Dogs will not let strangers in the house until the master says it is okay.
